Vivo Energy Uganda has rewarded customers with electronic gadgets and all-expenses-paid trips to Cape Town, South Africa, under its “Unleash the Power” promotional campaign.

The company, which markets and distributes Shell-branded fuels and lubricants in Uganda, handed over prizes to winners at a ceremony held at Shell Lugogo service station on Friday, October 30.

Eighteen customers received electronic prizes, while eight grand prize winners secured holidays in Cape Town. According to the company, the campaign, which began in October last year, has so far rewarded 80 customers.

The promotion was designed to encourage motorists to use Shell’s premium fuels and lubricants while highlighting the importance of quality products in protecting vehicle engines and maintaining performance.

One of the winners, Abas Mpiima, a Shell Kigobe customer and employee of the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), said he was surprised when he received a call informing him that he had won a trip to South Africa.

Mpiima said he had submitted his promotional coupon about four times before receiving the winning notification three days later.

“I was at work when I received the news that I had won a trip to South Africa. I was very happy. This will be my first time visiting South Africa, and I am looking forward to experiencing new things and making new friends. We thank Shell for this opportunity. You are amazing,” he said.

Alinafe Mkavea, Chief Commercial Officer of Vivo Energy Uganda, thanked customers for participating in the promotion and continuing to support the Shell brand.

She said the campaign was intended to demonstrate the benefits of choosing premium fuels and lubricants, including engine protection and improved vehicle performance, while giving customers an opportunity to win prizes.

Customers qualified for the promotion by servicing their vehicles with Shell Helix Ultra lubricant or purchasing Shell V-Power fuel. Prizes included branded merchandise, electronic gadgets and the all-expenses-paid Cape Town holiday.

Mkavea said the response reflected the company’s commitment to engaging motorists through product education and rewarding customer experiences.

She added that Vivo Energy Uganda would continue focusing on quality products, technical expertise and initiatives that deliver value to customers.

Shell Helix Ultra is a fully synthetic lubricant powered by PurePlus Technology and designed to protect engines against wear while helping maintain performance. Shell V-Power, on the other hand, is formulated to clean and protect critical engine components against deposits that can affect vehicle performance.

The company says the two products offer complementary benefits, supporting engine protection and helping motorists maintain vehicle performance.

Vivo Energy Uganda also recognised the contribution of customers, service station operators, mechanics, partners and employees in delivering the campaign, saying it would continue investing in customer engage
