Uganda Airlines is excited to announce the launch of its new scheduled service to Harare and Lusaka, which commenced on September 25, 2024.

The two destinations will now be served four times a week, enhancing connectivity between East Africa, Southern Africa, and other international routes.

Uganda Airlines Chief Executive Officer, Jenifer Bamuturaki, expressed her delight in reintroducing flights to the capitals of Zambia and Zimbabwe, nations with deep historical and cultural ties to Uganda.

She emphasized the airline’s commitment to providing travelers with safe, affordable, and reliable air transport while increasing travel options across Africa.

Bamuturaki also highlighted that these flights will be operated using the airline’s CRJ 900-LR fleet, recognized as the youngest in Africa by Ch-Aviation.

This service eliminates the need for lengthy layovers at neighboring hubs, reducing travel time between Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe by more than six hours.

Moreover, it provides the most efficient and cost-effective route from Southern Africa to Uganda and other regions in East, West, and Central Africa.

In addition to serving passengers with final destinations in Uganda, the flights have been timed to facilitate connections to various destinations within Uganda Airlines’ network, including Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, Johannesburg, Dubai, and many more.

Yesterday – Wednesday 25th September 2024, the inaugural Flight UR 720 departed Entebbe at 10:00am and arrived in Lusaka at 11:45am. UR720 would later depart for Harare at 12:30pm and arrive in Harare at 1.30pm. The return UR720 departed Harare at 2:15pm and arrived in Entebbe at 6:15pm in time for convenient connections.

With the addition of Harare and Lusaka, Uganda Airlines now serves 16 destinations, marking the completion of its initial route expansion within Africa, as the airline gears up for future international growth.
