Winners of the NCBA Golf Series qualifiers held at Entebbe Golf Club over the weekend are now set to compete in the grand finale in Nairobi this December, following a thrilling weekend of golf.
Golf enthusiasts from across Uganda gathered at the picturesque Entebbe Golf Club, where competitive energy, networking, and community engagement combined for a memorable event.
The 18-hole course, known for its beauty and challenges, provided the perfect setting for the golfers to secure their spots in the prestigious finale at Muthaiga Golf Club, one of Nairobi’s most renowned courses.
Mark Muyobo, CEO of NCBA Bank Uganda, emphasized the growing importance of the series, saying, “This event has cemented itself as a cornerstone in Uganda’s sporting calendar, encouraging the love of golf while fostering valuable connections within the business community.”
He added, “We are committed to inspiring greatness, and this platform allows players not only to showcase their skills but also to build meaningful relationships.”
The weekend saw fierce competition, with Anselm Olweny emerging victorious in the Men’s category and Berna Musanabera triumphing in the Women’s category.
Both have earned their place in the grand finale, joining earlier winners Emmanuel Wamala and Eva Lwanga from the Uganda Golf Club qualifiers in June, and Brian Omeda and Lillian Koowe from the Jinja Golf Club event in August. These six champions will enjoy an all-expenses-paid trip to Kenya to compete in the final round.
The Nairobi finale will bring together winners from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda, alongside junior champions from other NCBA Golf Series tournaments. As the best players from the region gather, they will compete not just for the ultimate prize, but also for regional bragging rights.
Now in its fourth edition, the NCBA Golf Series has grown since its inception in 2021, becoming one of East Africa’s premier golf events. More than just a competition, it’s a platform that promotes sportsmanship, strengthens business ties, and fosters community spirit.
The November finale in Nairobi promises to be an exciting celebration of excellence both on and off the course.
