 Huawei wins eastern Africa cybersecurity leadership award

Huawei, a global leader in information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, has been honored with the prestigious Eastern Africa Cybersecurity Leadership and Innovation Award at the East Africa Internet Governance Forum (EAIGF).

The forum, held from September 11-12 at Serena Hotel in Kampala, Uganda, brought together regional stakeholders to shape the future of internet governance.

Huawei’s award recognizes its exceptional efforts in strengthening cybersecurity and promoting innovation in Eastern Africa’s digital landscape.

Huawei’s initiatives have significantly enhanced the region’s cybersecurity infrastructure, creating a safer digital environment for businesses and communities.

Zhangdongxia, Chief Cybersecurity Officer of Huawei Southern Africa, expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “We are deeply honored to receive the Eastern Africa Cybersecurity Leadership and Innovation Award. This accolade reflects our commitment to advancing cybersecurity and driving digital innovation across Eastern Africa.”

She added that a secure digital ecosystem is essential for sustainable development and economic growth. Huawei will continue collaborating with governments, industry partners, and communities to build a safer, more inclusive digital future.

The EAIGF is a vital platform for dialogue on Internet governance policies. Huawei’s recognition highlights its ongoing efforts to bridge the digital divide and promote digital inclusion across the region.
