The staff of Uganda Baati, a building solutions provider in Uganda, visited Watoto’s Suubi Village in Mpigi District recently in a bid to contribute to the enhancement of vocational training in Uganda.
The trip under the auspices of Uganda Baati’s Social Investment program served as a benchmarking exercise aimed at understanding the nuances of excellent vocational training, a pivotal step towards our vision of establishing the Safal Uganda Baati Vocational Institute in Tororo.
The visit to Watoto’s Suubi Village was intended to draw inspiration from the commendable work at the Hope Vocational and Technical Institute.
This institution stands as a beacon of hope, offering a diverse array of learning programs, namely cosmetology, automotive mechanics, fashion and design, and catering, meticulously designed to equip individuals with the essential skills required to craft a promising future for themselves.
Much akin to the Watoto Hope Vocational Institute, the Safal Uganda Baati Vocational Institute envisions providing underprivileged young men and women with an invaluable opportunity.
This opportunity will empower them with the skills necessary to not only integrate seamlessly into the workforce but also to sustainably support themselves and their families, thereby breaking the cycle of poverty.
“The highlight of our visit was the chance to interact with the little residents of Baby Watoto, the orphanage arm of the village. Here, infants aged 0-3 years who were sadly abandoned are rescued and given a second lease on life,” the company said in a statement shared with this website on Nov.9.
Through the provision of nurturing housing and a loving family environment, Baby Watoto ensures that these infants grow up in an atmosphere brimming with care and compassion, setting the stage for a promising future.
The company added: “We at Uganda Baati, are resolute in our commitment to replicating the success of institutions like the Watoto Hope Vocational Institute. Through establishing the Safal Uganda Baati Vocational Institute, we aim not only to impart skills but to nurture dreams, cultivate aspirations, and foster a generation of empowered individuals who will shape the destiny of our beloved nation.”
