Tecno Mobile executives unveil Spark 10 series, promises education support to Kyambogo students 

TECNO Mobile, an innovative technology brand has partnered with Airtel Uganda, Jumia – an e-commerce platform and others to unveil the latest 4G device, the TECNO Spark 10 series in Uganda.

The launch event was held at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) on March 15. It was graced by local artists, MUBS student leadership and management. 

Timmy Shen, the TECNO Brand Manager for Uganda said, the aim of unveiling the gadget at MUBS was to explain to the student community that internet enabled gadgets that are affordable in terms of price were available at all Tecno Uganda touch points.

The Principle of MUBS Waswa Balunywa said, internet enabled gadgets are key enablers to education sector players to go about teaching and learning via online means – an idea that gained prominence during the height of COVID-19 pandemic. He asked Tecno management to support MUBS students by selling to them gadgets through subsidies.

Indeed Timmy Shen said, the company was ready to explore avenues that can enable students benefit from their operations in Uganda through internships and offering smart phones, tablets at subsidized price. He also said, the company would offer long term payment plans to students acquiring gadgets.
